Alchemist? Immortal? fraud?
Named after an 18th century French aristocrat, explorer and alchemist who claimed to be over 500 years old, Comte De St Germain (The Count of St Germain) is also the musical project of Brisbane musician Joseph Johns.
Having previously worked and/or performed with members of The Vaccines, Gorillaz, The Libertines, Flatbush Zombies, Fat White Family, Roxy Music and The Only Ones, Joseph began writing new material under the moniker Comte De St Germain in mid 2017. In September 2017 he enlisted musicians including The Vaccines' Arni Arnason on bass along with drummer Dean Pearson of Young Legionnaire and commenced work on recordings.
